Director of Golf Instruction

John WebsterJohn is the Director of Golf Instruction at his eponymous Golf Academy, located at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. He joined the legendary resort in 2005, where he developed and implemented his “Total Package Golf” system, a multi-faceted program that includes world-class instruction, club fitting, fitness, course management and mental approach.

As a PGA Class-A Professional, John has earned numerous accreditations from the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), including Certified Fitness Professional, Prominent Club Fitter and Leadership Advisor. He has instructed golfers of all skill levels from beginners to PGA Tour champions. Among his noteworthy students are a U.S. Open champion, U.S. Amateur winner and NCAA champion. In 2010, John was named the South Florida Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year, and in 2011 the South Florida Section PGA Teacher of the Year.

Prior to joining The Breakers, John had extensive tenures with Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland—where he spent six years as the Club’s Director of Golf Instruction—and Jim McLean Golf Schools. During his eight years of teaching at the Jim McLean Golf School in Miami, he designed the Jim McLean Learning Center in Michigan, becoming the Center’s Director of Instruction for two years, and eventually overseeing all McLean Schools as Vice President of Operations for McLean Enterprises.

An accomplished golfer, John played collegiately at Loyola University and competed professionally on the Australian/Asian Tour, as well as a number of Florida mini-tours.
